The talented singer-songwriter Linda McRea joins us live in our studios.

Students in 1st Grade at Phillips Elementary planted an herb garden in Spring 2011. A week later, they wrote and recorded reflections about their experience and the importance of herbs.

Joining us are Cassidy, 7, Melissa, 15, Ana, 10 and Mara, 14, all students at the Pittsburgh Music Academy. Here they share their accomplishments and talents as young classical musicians, live on SLB.

Local folk duo The Squirrel Hillbillies perform live on SLB.

Joining us, Bethan Neely, 16, piano and organ, and Federico Garcia, Music Director, of The Hope Academy’s East Libery Community Engagement Orchestra (EL CEO).

Participation in Hope Academy’s EL CEO is open to young musicians, and their musically-inclined parents, of all ability levels. This season’s orientation for EL CEO is on Saturday, September 10th, 3pm at East Liberty Presbyterian Church. More information is available below.

SLB’s tent was open Saturdays and Sundays (noon to 5 p.m.) in the Creativity Zone in Point State Park and collected thoughts from children and youth on the role the arts play in their lives.

Paula Purnell and Gerard Rohlf, talented members of Pittsburgh’s traditional folk quartet The NewLanders, perform live in our studios.

The very talented Daniel Marcus performs live in our studios.

Marcus Meston, 16, is a singer-songwriter from Upper St. Clair High School. Active in several other projects, here he performs his lavish and melodic pop-rock, live on SLB.
