Our weekly radio program invites students in Grades K-12 to perform live on the air. Hear young musicians, singer/songwriters, photographers, writers, poets and other people who express themselves through the arts.

Since 1978, The Saturday Light Brigade has broadcast LIVE spontaneous on-air phone calls from kids and adults as part of its Saturday morning radio program. Now you can hear some of the most memorable calls from people participating in on-air games and other participatory features or simply calling to tell us about something exciting.

Streaming Justice Webcast 2016: Students Honor MLK

On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, high school students hosted Streaming Justice, a live five-hour webcast. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., participants hosted the live webcast, selected the songs played during their segments and learned about the equipment used in a live broadcast. Discussions covered topics such as civil rights, youth engagement, public education and other matters of justice and equity.

Students that participated in Streaming Justice are from area high schools including Barack Obama Academy, City Charter, North Allegheny, Oakland Catholic, Pittsburgh Allderdice, Pittsburgh CAPA, Propel Braddock Hills, Westinghouse and Woodland Hills Academy.

In October of 2014, PAEYC and Allegheny County Family Support came together to present “Inviting Ideas, Inspiring Innovation”, a conference featuring sessions that explore educational innovation occurring where learning takes place, outside of the classroom. The conference highlighted presentations from providers, parents, teachers, artists, scientists, designers and anyone aiming to improve learning experiences for children.
