Since 1978, The Saturday Light Brigade has broadcast LIVE spontaneous on-air phone calls from kids and adults as part of its Saturday morning radio program. Now you can hear some of the most memorable calls from people participating in on-air games and other participatory features or simply calling to tell us about something exciting.

Our microphones were rolling on March 4th, 2020 at the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) welcome reception at MuseumLab, as they prepare for the 2020 annual conference to be held in Pittsburgh in October. Hear from industry professionals from across the country about their experiences in ASTC, peer collaboration, and how they’re striving to share what their organization has to offer as many people as possible.

Getting to the Point
In Summer 2018, eight students created these radio features while taking part in The Heinz Endowments Youth Philanthropy Internship Program. The resulting features cover issues identified by the interns during research and field work conducted throughout the summer. While SLB provided training and coaching, the features presented below were conceived and created entirely by the students. Students also recorded reflections of their summer experience.

Hear more from David as part of live on-air performances with Big Snow Big Thaw from January 15th, 2011 and June 9th, 2012. David passed away on September 20, 2016 at 37 after touching thousands of lives — our included — with his gentle spirit, beautiful mind, open ears and huge heart.
