Guaranteed Irish
Guaranteed Irish have been performing Irish ballads and dance music for over 20 years. Paddy Folan, Bruce Foley and Jimmy Lamb combine button accordion, guitars and uilleann pipes, all the while singing in their own distinctive and energetic way to make a sound that is true to the traditions of Irish music. We’re happy to host them live in our studios.

Dave Eggar and Charles Palmer
This week we’re happy to welcome back the very talented duo of cellist Dave Eggar and percussionist Charles Palmer, live in our studios. The two will also discuss their role in Attack Theatre’s latest production, Assemble This.
Beagle Brothers
Sometimes known as “Bloomfield’s best live band,” the Beagle Brothers perform country, old-time and honky-tonk acoustic music with energy, wit and style. We’re pleased to host them live in our studios.
Lohio
Lohio’s music shifts between intimate, instrumentally rich folk songs and midwestern infused, Neil Young-esque indie rock. Singer/songwriter Greg Dutton’s hushed vocals and the bands knack for tackling a range of genre’s draws comparisons to artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Yo La Tengo, and Wilco. We’re proud to host them live in our studios.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Storybox
Students in 6th through 8th grade at Pittsburgh Manchester Pre-K-8 took time to reflect on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This StoryBox unit presents the resulting spoken essays about his life as well as through verbal interpretations of specific passages from Dr. King’s speeches.
White Noise
We’re pleased to host the wonderful a cappella singing group, White Noise, live in our studios. This accomplished group, which has sang with the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra, performs standards and original compositions.
Aaron Jentzen
This week we’re joined by the very talented Aaron Jenzten and his band, who make beautiful, cinematic pop music. Aaron’s voice is deep and soulful, and serves as a wonderful vehicle for his insightful, poetic lyrics.
Live music with the Pittsburgh Songwriters Circle
The Pittsburgh Songwriters Circle is an independent program of Calliope: the Pittsburgh Folk Music Society, and is dedicated to exploring, promoting and practicing the art and craft of song writing. This week we’re joined by members Bruce Hoffman, Mike Strasser and John Hayes, as they share their original, acoustic music and discuss the newly released, Pittsburgh Songwriters Circle: Collection 2010.
