Streaming Justice Webcast 2019: Students Honor MLK
On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, high school students hosted Streaming Justice, a live four-hour webcast. From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., participants hosted the live webcast, selected the songs played during their segments and learned about the equipment used in a live broadcast. Discussions covered topics such as civil rights, youth engagement, public education and other matters of justice and equity.
Students that participated in Streaming Justice are from area schools including Obama Academy, Oakland Catholic, Penn Hills High School, Nazareth Prep, Environmental Charter School, Sci-Tech, St. Benedict the Moor and Woodland Hills Junior Senior High School.
Environmental Charter School 8th Grade Legacy Project 2015
For their Graduation Legacy Project, the ECS Class of 2015, our second class of eighth graders, wrote and recorded these audio reflections so that each could leave a small part of themselves here.
Environmental Charter School 3rd Grade Persuasive Writing Project: Career Exploration
In Spring 2014, SLB worked with 75 third graders at ECS as they identified issues of concern in town hall meetings, interviewed community members about their careers, and created radio advertisements to promote these careers and their connection to the ECS guiding principles of Catalyst, Character, Collaboration and Commitment.

Between March 7th and March 20th, SLB worked with 72 second graders at The Environmental Charter School at Frick Park as we used the tools of radio broadcasting to sharpen self-expression and persuasive writing.
