This week we’ll preview this Caribbean fairy tale told in rousing song and dance. Once on this Island is a joyous marriage of the slick and the folkloric, of the hard-nosed sophistication of Broadway musical theater and the indigenous culture of a tropical isle.

We are pleased to welcome back Alberto Sewald, a 13 year-old Rock Band Academy student who has been playing music since he was in second grade. Listen live as Alberto dazzles with some of his brand new, original acoustic guitar compositions.

In January 2010, students in 6th through 8th grade at Pittsburgh Manchester Pre-K-8 took time to reflect on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This StoryBox unit presents the resulting spoken essays about his life as well as through verbal interpretations of specific passages from Dr. King’s speeches.

Teens Jacob and Evan met in high school where they both entered a talent show and discovered a mutual love for The Beatles. From there they started writing songs together, eventually forming the up and coming pop/rock band, Crossing Boundaries. This week, they’ll join us live for an acoustic set featuring Jacob on guitar and Evan on piano.
