Hoyt Center for the Arts Summer Camp 2016
During week four of Hoyt Center for the Arts Summer Camp, Make Some Waves, campers worked with SLB Radio to learn about explore the technology used to make audio recordings for radio, while pracicing their ability to express themselves.
YMCA Lighthouse Project 2016-2017
The YMCA Lighthouse Project is an afterschool program at the Homewood-Brushton YMCA that empowers young people through media arts and leadership. The Lighthouse provides students the opportunity to engage in a range of artistic fields including music production, filmmaking, architectural design, graphic design, spoken word and visual art. Students express themselves through music, videos and poetry and use these art-forms to better their community.

Inclined to Care: Lifting the Alleghenies to New Heights, 2016
IN SUMMER 2016, the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies welcomed ten Youth Philanthropy Interns. This 8-week program was made possible through a grant from The Heinz Endowments and is based on its long-running similar program in Pittsburgh. Throughout their internship, students assessed community needs and developed two opportunities for local non-profits to apply for grants of up to $25,000 to address these needs. In addition to their grantmaking, interns created the radio documentaries on this CD with training from SLB Radio Productions in Pittsburgh. SLB will air the features across its 10-station network.
Radio Camp 2016 – Week 6 – Final Interviews & Graduation
During our final three days of Summer Dreamers, radio campers presented an audio compilation of all their podcasts to the whole of Camp Marvelous, had a crazy fun party and got to play in a heated kick ball game!
3rd Annual Youth Garden Summit
On August 2, 2016, youth affiliated with Grow Pittsburgh, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Braddock Youth Project and Wilkinsburg Youth Project came together to celebrate and share their experiences working in gardens around the city over the summer.
