It seems like tree houses are going to be big in 2015! Due to a field trip not everyone got a chance to record but check back soon for everyone’s individual pieces.
At the end of our session, students discussed what they like about their school and some things they might want to change.
After School students at Brashear have been having some interesting candid discussions in Radio Club. During this week’s round table, fighting in school was the main topic. Radio Club members talked about school policy, why fighting happens, and alternatives to violence.
With Christmas almost here, our Radio Club-ers were asked: What are your three absolute favorite things about the yuletide season? Some students couldn’t limit themselves to just three!
Students at Clairton CASTLE were asked to reflect upon their neighborhood or school. The first class did this through a structured round table discussion and a wireless microphone. The second, instead, were asked to draw how they wished their school or neighborhood looked, and then took turns recording their verbal descriptions of their finished drawings.
Everyone needs a little help from time to time. Students at Pittsburgh King wrote and recorded about a time they were there to lend someone a helping hand.
Underclassmen at Brashear started mandatory state testing this week with the Keystone Exams. In a round table setting, students discussed and reflected on the Keystones.
Clairton CASTLE-ers were introduced to the H1–a handheld, digital recording device. After learning the basics, they then formed small groups and took turns interviewing each other.
Students got together and talked about what the school can do to get more students to come to the after school programs. Also to get more programs that students have a better interest in.
Students at Clairton CASTLE were asked, if they were to encounter a genie-housing, “Aladdin” rule abiding magic lamp, what would they wish for?
