Miami, Las Vegas, and Germany were just a few a places King students said they would like to visit if they could go anywhere in the world. Some After Schoolers have some pretty trips laid out – even crossing the Atlantic Ocean by helicopter to go shopping in Paris!
Clairton CASTLE 2015: A New Semester & “Three Things About Me”
A new semester at Clairton’s CASTLE program means a brand new semester of Radio Club! Students were introduced to The Saturday Light Brigade, various professional recording equipment, as well as proper microphone technique before writing and recording pieces describing themselves.
Streaming Justice Webcast 2015: Students Honor MLK
On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, high school students hosted Streaming Justice, a live four-hour webcast. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., participants hosted the live webcast, selected the songs played during their segments and learned about the equipment used in a live broadcast. Discussions covered topics such as civil rights, youth engagement, public education and other matters of justice and equity.
Students that participated in Streaming justice are from area high schools including Pittsburgh CAPA, Upper St. Clair, Oakland Catholic, Fox Chapel Area and one home-schooled student.
