Pittsburgh King After School: New Years Hopes
It’s hard to believe but we haven’t seen the King After School kids in about a month due to the holiday schedule. Students shared some of their ambitions with us for the new year. Their goals are wide-ranging; everything from trying new sports to learning more about professional wrestling.
Wilkinsburg After School: Radio Show
Students have radio talk about the past events on terrorism in Paris and about Sony making a movie about North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong-un.
Clairton CASTLE 2015: Microphone Building – Part 2
Students at Clairton’s CASTLE after school program finished building their DIY microphones! Then, after sanding off an insulating coating on their makeshift leads, they were able to test their mics by connecting them to a mixer and speaker using alligator clips.

This week, Radio Club members discussed something that’s usually pretty unpopular – school lunches. In a round table setting, students gave some insight and opinions on the midday meal.
Clairton CASTLE 2015: Microphone Building – Part 1
Students at Clairton’s CASTLE program, after learning how they worked, got to build microphones out of household materials! Using just two magnets, a length of copper wire, three washers, a nut, a bolt, a plastic straw and a cup, campers created an amazing piece of technology!
