Everyone has inside games they like to play with their friends – and Camp FUN is no different!
Some members of our younger cohort got to spend a week at Camp Penuel in Elred, Pennsylvania. Still excited from their trip, campers reflected all the great outdoor activities, bonding, and good times they shared.
It is the third week of Propel Northside Radio Club! We hear the rising 2nd through 4th graders host their own radio programs and rising 1st and 2nd graders talk about their homes and neighborhoods. Rising 5th through 8th graders review their podcast and try out editing techniques.
After having to make some educated guesses about electricity, campers not only got to learn about electrons, circuits and conductivity, they experienced these things first hand thanks to the “Makey Makey,” an invention kit created by JoyLabz LLC that turns everyday objects into buttons for computers. From becoming a human piano to playing Space Invaders on oranges, students experimented with basic circuit building.
Our younger groups at Camp FUN were tasked with creating fictional tales about otherworldly creatures.
We asked our older group at Camp FUN to get creative and write a radio advertisement for a product, store, or service they came up with. If you need new shoes, a dirt bike, or are currently on fire – some of these businesses may be able to help.

The campers worked collaboratively this week to produce their first podcasts and practice interviewing techniques using portable recorders. Featured here are the podcast pilot episodes.
