Since 1978, The Saturday Light Brigade has broadcast LIVE spontaneous on-air phone calls from kids and adults as part of its Saturday morning radio program. Now you can hear some of the most memorable calls from people participating in on-air games and other participatory features or simply calling to tell us about something exciting.

Pittsburgh Langley K-8: Mustang Hot Topics

Students in Citiparks’ After School Academy at Pittsburgh Langley K-8 recorded these pieces for a school newscast, titled “Mustang Hot Topics.” These pieces are a result of the second of seven weekly sessions in which students are learning about the equipment and techniques used in producing features for radio.

The “American Dream” discussion topic produced such awesome responses at Clairton, it was decided that students at The Zone would be asked what they thought of this national ethos as well.

Clairton CASTLE: The American Dream & Editing

On our seventh meeting at Clairton’s CASTLE program students were asked to reflect on the “American Dream” and what it means to them. Then, 5th and 6th graders were given access to Mac Book Pros with which they attempted the Humpty Dumpty Challenge; after learning the basics of the audio editing software Adobe Audition, the students were tasked with reassembling various Disney songs that had been divided into 15 separate clips.
