Since 1978, The Saturday Light Brigade has broadcast LIVE spontaneous on-air phone calls from kids and adults as part of its Saturday morning radio program. Now you can hear some of the most memorable calls from people participating in on-air games and other participatory features or simply calling to tell us about something exciting.

This week we’re pleased to welcome local musician Sean O’Donnell. Sean’s musical background runs deep; he first began playing bagpipes at age seven. Sean is now an accomplished singer-songwriter and guitarist and joins us live in our studios.

Jackie Jonas and Middle Passage

Jackie Jonas joins us to preview her benefit performance of Middle Passage. This evening of stories and music celebrates the Black American experience and features drumming, gospel music, original and traditional stories. Jackie will be joined by Middle Passage singer Raphael Kelly. Proceeds from this performance, held at the Union Project in Highland Park.

Coordinator David King joins us to preview Sleep-In for the Homeless, a unique fundraising event that assists Pittsburgh’s homeless population. The Sleep-In takes place in the lobby of the City-County Building, downtown Pittsburgh.

City Theatre’s Young Playwrights Festival

City Theatre’s Young Playwrights Festival includes six performances of new works by middle and high school students, as well as workshops on various aspects of theatre. We’ll be joined by a few of the winning playwrights, along with actors who will perform a select scene.
