5th Grade Students in Radio Club at Pittsburgh Allegheny PreK-8 recorded these pieces in which they discuss issues that concern them. These pieces are a result of the second of six weekly sessions in which students will learn about the microphones, and the recording equipment used in producing features for radio.

On the fifth day of Pittsburgh King’s Radio Club students were asked how they felt about their neighborhoods. The conversation then segued into a round table discussion on local gun violence.

Students in Citiparks’ After School Academy at Pittsburgh Langley K-8 wrote and recorded these pieces about a time they felt proud about something they accomplished.

Students in Clairton’s CASTLE program wrote and recorded these pieces where they describe what they want to be when they grow up. These pieces are a result of their weekly sessions in which students will learn about the microphones, mixers and digital recorders used in producing features for radio.
