Youth Expression Showcase: Maighread and Maeve Southard-Wray
Joining us Maighread, 10, Cello, and Maeve, 8, Violin, of East Liberty. Maighred and Maeve are members of the East Liberty Community Engagement Orchestra and both perform piano as well.
Propel East – Radio and Journalism Class – 5th grade
In Fall 2011, 5th grade students at Propel East in Turtle Creek took part in a Radio Journalism class taught by SLB Radio Productions as part of their Creative Arts curriculum. Participating students learned to use microphones, digital recorders and mixers while also sharpening speaking and interviewing skills. During their time in class, students used these acquired skills to interview their teachers and each other in order to create professional radio pieces.

Students in 1st Grade at Phillips Elementary planted an herb garden in Spring 2011. A week later, they wrote and recorded reflections about their experience and the importance of herbs.
