Since 1978, The Saturday Light Brigade has broadcast LIVE spontaneous on-air phone calls from kids and adults as part of its Saturday morning radio program. Now you can hear some of the most memorable calls from people participating in on-air games and other participatory features or simply calling to tell us about something exciting.

7th graders at Pittsburgh Manchester PreK-8 got their first taste of Radio Club! After learning about The Saturday Light Brigade and the basic tenets of audio recording, the students then put this new knowledge to work briefly describing themselves in the recordings below.

Pittsburgh Allegheny 6-8 After School 2015: Meaning of Life & Movie Discussion

Students at ATA participated in two oddly disparate discussions, one focusing on issues of tremendous import like: “Did Darth Vader actually, really redeem himself at the end of ‘Return of the Jedi?'” The other discussion was about why we exist.

With all the nice weather, we decided to stroll through historic Allegheny Center over to the Children’s Museum and have a studio day. There, King students put on their science fiction hat and wrote stories containing aliens.

Students in Radio Club at Pittsburgh Schiller 6-8 wrote interview questions and put into practice the basics of interviewing that they learned in the last session using Zoom H2 recorders. They then interviewed each other and listened back to their audio.
