Since 1978, The Saturday Light Brigade has broadcast LIVE spontaneous on-air phone calls from kids and adults as part of its Saturday morning radio program. Now you can hear some of the most memorable calls from people participating in on-air games and other participatory features or simply calling to tell us about something exciting.

Clairton CASTLE 2015: Microphone Building – Pt. 1

Students at Clairton’s CASTLE program, after learning how they worked, got to build microphones out of household materials! Using just two magnets, a length of copper wire, three washers, a nut, a bolt, a plastic straw and a cup, campers created an amazing piece of technology!

Students at Clairton CASTLE were introduced to the H1–a handheld, digital recording device. After learning the basics, they then formed small groups and took turns interviewing each other. Some opted to interview themselves with a silly voice and an alter-ego while some even interviewed a teacher!

Students at Clairton once again braved the frigid conditions and participated in two different round table activities. The fifth graders each took turns telling the same, communal story while the seventh graders discussed what they wanted to be when they grow up.
