Since 1978, The Saturday Light Brigade has broadcast LIVE spontaneous on-air phone calls from kids and adults as part of its Saturday morning radio program. Now you can hear some of the most memorable calls from people participating in on-air games and other participatory features or simply calling to tell us about something exciting.

Radio Camp 2015 – Day 12 – Adobe Audition

On our twelfth day of Radio Camp, campers got a crash course in Adobe Audition, the audio editing software we use to polish their recordings. Taking turns with a wireless keyboard, each camper received a turn to edit their own voice with it projected onto a large screen.

Radio campers at Summer Dreamer’s Academy were asked to write a not-so-typical story, one that had to begin like this: “One night, you’re eating dinner with your family, when one of the peas on your plate starts whispering to you. What does it say?”

Radio Camp 2015 – Day 7 – H1 Handheld Digital Recorders

Campers were introduced to the H1–a handheld, digital recording device. After learning the basics, they then formed small groups and took turns interviewing each other.

On our fifth and sixth day of Radio Camp, campers wrote and recorded about their futures. We have an awesome variety of aspirations in our group of Dreamers, ranging from professional athlete to modern artist!

On our third day of Radio Camp we decided that the our room needed a little bit more radio flair. So campers and teachers alike helped to create a vast collection of radio-themed art to decorate the room with.

On our second day of Radio Camp, campers were introduced to recording session roles of: Producer, Engineer and Talent. Afterwards they each received their very own Reporter’s Notebook, which they’ll write in almost everyday and use as a journal during the summer. Each camper then wrote down and recorded three unique things about themselves.
